Patricia M. Rodriguez Mosquera
I study emotions in their social and cultural context. I am especially interested in the emotions people feel when they are valued and respected (or devalued and disrespected) by others. My research focuses on a wide range of emotions, from pride, happiness, and satisfaction to anger, shame, envy, and humiliation. In most of this research, I study how cultural values, norms, and practices influence the experience, expression, and social implications of these emotions.
